This was in an engagement meeting with the Inspectorate of Government (IG), held in the council hall, at Kyenjojo District Local Government Headquarters.
According to Mr. Joseph Muwanguzi, Officer Advocacy and Capacity Building in the Inspectorate of Government, corruption and its tendencies contribute losses of over 10 trillion shillings every financial year to the government of Uganda, which money if utilized well would offer better services to Ugandans.
“The Inspectorate of Government being the lead agency in the fight against corruption, is thus tasked with a difficult job to eliminate corruption in the country, but cannot do it alone. We need every one of you on board to combat this” he remarked. Everyone is encouraged to fight corruption by not associating with it, or reporting corruption tendencies.
