KYENJOJO DISTRICT DEVELOPS A 5YEAR DISTRICT DEVELOPMENT PLAN, 2025-2030

Heads of Department, Kyenjojo District have converged at PANORAMA Hotel, in the outskirts of Kyenjojo, to develop the five-year District Development Plan, 2025-2030.

The five-year District Development Plans are a legal requirement for all higher and lower local governments in Uganda. They form a baseline tool for tracking implementation of government programs and the basis of controlling the pace and direction of development investment.

Kyenjojo District Local Government Development Plan IV is the Fourth Five-year Development Plan running from FY 2025/2026 to FY2029/2030. The plan is in line with the National Vision 2030 and aligned to the Fourth National Development Plan (NDPIV). All the programs in NDP IV that are implemented in Local Governments have been adopted or adapted and relevant outputs planned for. This plan has a resource mobilization strategy that encourages all stakeholders in the development process to contribute resources towards attaining the set objectives and development goals.

The National Development Plan 2025-2030 (NDPIV) is Uganda's fourth development plan. It aims to achieve higher household incomes, full monetization of the economy, and employment for sustainable socio-economic transformation. The plan is centered around the theme "Sustainable Industrialization for Inclusive Growth, Employment, and Wealth Creation".

Key focus areas include:

·         Value addition and industrialization

·         Investments in sectors like Agro-Industry, Tourism, Mining, Oil and Gas, ICT, and Finance

·         Doubling the size of the economy every five years

·         Creating an average of 884,962 direct jobs annually

The plan also aims to reduce poverty, maintain macroeconomic stability, and increase the revenue-to-GDP ratio
