Parish Development Model (PDM) Tablets distributed to Parish Chiefs and SACCO Leaders
Following release by the Ministry of Local Government and Ministry of ICT & National Guidance, Kyenjojo District received 367 PDM tablets for distribution to PDM SACCO Leaders, Community Development Officers, District IT officers, District Statistician, and Parish Chiefs/Ward Agents.
This is aimed at enhancing PDM performance through close monitoring and supervision by the above mentioned. The gadgets were verified for functionality and readiness for deployment, to ensure they meet the required technical standards and specifications to effectively support the implementation of the Parish Development Model.
While handing over the tablets, the Chief Administrative Officer, Kyenjojo, Mr. Masereka Amis Asuman, thanked everyone for ensuring PDM succeeds in Kyenjojo District. He highlighted a few SACCOs like Ihamba and Nakahuka, that previously had issues, but were finally able to disburse funds to beneficiaries.

He also informed the stakeholders of the impending second phase of disbursement that is soon being rolled out. He thus requested those who have any issues, or have not completed first phase disbursement to bring them up so they can be helped. He also encouraged them for seek for information if they don’t know or seek clarity rather than make mistakes.
The Vice Chairperson Kyenjojo, Hon. Ayebale Owen, encouraged everyone to serve the people of Kyenjojo willingly, and avoid bribes. He reiterated the President’s position to have anyone involved in such to be arrested and arraigned before courts of law. He also encouraged the SACCO leaders and Parish Chiefs to sensitize the masses to constructively use the PDM funds, for development of their families and community.

The District Production and Marketing Officer, Mr. Shem Ssekyanzi, informed everyone that the tabs are government property, and should be used for ensuring government work improves not personal use, and should be treated like any other government property. “When leaving office or transferred, the tabs should be included in the handover report just like any other government property. If lost or spoilt, report to office, and approach the responsible offices so you outline how you are going to replace government property”, he remarked.
He also encouraged everyone to put the tabs to good use, and ease timely reporting, and also ensure the disbursed funds are put to good use in the communities, and recovered for rolling out to other beneficiaries.

The Assistant RDC, Mr. Thaddeo Kasaija, encouraged all stakeholders to implement all government programs, not just PDM equally, and encourage the communities to put government funds to good use. He also reminded them to avoid bribery and extortion as the RDC’s office is ready to implement the President’s directives on such.
